During his keynote presentation, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida provided an exclusive sneak peek into what Dawntrail has in store for us upon its Summer 2024 launch. Alongside the captivating new story, players can anticipate an elevated level cap, the introduction of numerous fresh jobs, vast and exciting new regions to explore, the inclusion of new allied tribes, and an array of novel dungeons.
Moreover, players can expect a wealth of thrilling core battle content, encompassing FATEs (Full Active Time Events), Hunts, Treasure Hunts, sidequests, and a multitude of other exciting elements to enhance the overall gaming experience. There’s so much more to look forward to with the Dawntrail expansion.

Here’s a glimpse at just some of the fresh content to look forward to:

In addition to all the exciting features already mentioned, Yoshida also unveiled that the game will receive its first major graphical update coinciding with the expansion’s release. This update will bring substantial enhancements to character and world visuals, elevating the overall graphical quality of the game.
Players can look forward to a more visually stunning experience with higher-resolution textures, enhanced shadows, and improved material qualities, which will significantly elevate the screen-wide aesthetic appeal. We are thrilled to offer a more detailed glimpse of these graphical improvements in the future, as they promise to add another layer of immersion and beauty to the gaming experience.
In addition to the already exciting announcements, there’s even more fantastic news: an extensively expanded Free Trial is on the horizon. Starting with Patch 6.5, scheduled for later this year, not only will our third expansion, Stormblood, be included, but everything up to Patch 4.58 as well. This means new players can embark on a journey all the way up to level 70 and experience the thrill of playing as the Red Mage and Samurai jobs, all without any time restrictions. To borrow a phrase from a well-known film about a grand adventure on the high seas, it’s as if « we’re going to need a bigger meme » to capture the enormity of this excitement!
With the vast amount of content to digest, rest assured that this is only the beginning for Dawntrail and the continuous adventures awaiting us in FFXIV. More thrilling information will be unveiled during the next stage of our Fan Festival 2023-2024 tour, taking place in London on October 21, 2023.
